I would recommend this game to anyone who likes survival sandbox style games but also HIGHLY recommend playing with the Frakin Universe mod sense it's free to download and just makes the game better in every way.Starbound is an extraterrestrial sandbox adventure game in which you take on the role of a character whoвЂ™s just fled from their home planet, only to find themselves lost in space with a damaged ship. I played a full vanilla play through of Starbound and it took me about 40h of game play to unlock everything the game had to offer, i then put the FU mod on and started a new game and DAM 760+ hours in and i still feel like there is so much more i have not seen yet. Now for MODDED game play i feel Starbound has up'ed it's game by leaps and bounds, there is a fantastic mod for this game called Frakin Universe, it over hulls the game by what i feel is 50x better then the vanilla version, adding new races to play as (also adding rascal stat buffs and debuffs for each race), new start, new ships and even the option to custom build your ship, hundreds (if not more) of new weapons, armors, powers, and items, along with lots of new quest style missions, planets, bioms, monsters, boss's, it makes the game just SO much more fun to play. Then go another planet and scan more crap rinse and repeat till the final fight and that is it. repetitive, go to this planet and scan crap then talk to the floating chair lady, do a short but intense quest style mission. The over all the base un-modded verson of each game i found Terraria feels more polished however lacks any sort of story line, Starbound has a story but it feels. I will admit there are a lot of things in common with Terraria, they are both block style sandbox games, both side scrollers, same pixel style graphics, however the differences are ware Tarreria is locked to it's 1 randomly generated world, Starbound has almost endless planets to explore, Starbound is one of them games that feels like a knock off of Terraria at 1st glance, witch often turns people away before even giving the game a chance.
